Imagine a world where fashion empowers people and protects the planet.
The RE8 of Fashion is Centre for Social Market’s nationwide campaign in collaboration with Fairtrade India and supported by the European Union SwitchAsia program to make fashion sustainable, fair, circular, and youth-led. Fast fashion is hurting the planet and the people. It’s time to REthink the way we wear fashion. Through the power of the 8 REs—Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Restore, Repurpose, and Recycle—we’re enabling students, schools, colleges, and workplaces to take climate-conscious fashion action.
Whether you’re a student, teacher, college rep, or corporate leader—there’s a place for you in the Campaign for RE8 (CRE8)!
What is the CRE8 of Fashion?
Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries. It’s also where millions of garment workers are underpaid and overworked. Fast fashion has led to overconsumption, environmental harm, and exploitation.
Introducing the 8 REs
The RE8 of Fashion gives us 8 smart, creative ways to shift toward sustainable fashion.

- REduce your environmental footprint & increase your social impact
- REuse clothes through swapping, renting, and thrifting
- REpair instead of tossing/replacing
